The Tamount cooperative



            The Tamounte Cooperative of extraction of oil of argan was created in 2003 within the framework of "Conservation and management hot spots (SMAP)/Essaouira program, carried out by Enda Maghreb in partnership with the ACEC, the WWF and with the financial support of the European Union.

            The cooperative was created according to a participatory approach largely implying women in the identification of their needs since the setting up of the cooperative.

            The partners support the women and guarantee the quality of their products :

  - Enda NGO,
  - Chouala association ACEC,
  - WWF,
  -The European Union,
  -The Regional Direction of Waters and Forests FHigh Atlas,
  - Direction of Waters and Forests of the High Atlas,
  - The Provincial Direction of Agriculture.
The cooperative aims at :
- Improving the living conditions of rural women,
- Valuing in a sustainable manner the local products, the argan tree,
- Integrating rural women in the local development of their douar.
